Neglia Ballet Announces a Full Season for 2010-2011
This year Neglia Ballet Artists will produce four world-class performances, two with the Buffalo Phiharmonic Orchestra, presenting for the first time a full season of performances.  The 2010-2011 season will include four productions, starting with Baba Yaga, the beloved Russian folktale and halloween family treat on October 15 and 16 at The Performing Arts Center at Rockwell Hall on the Buffalo State College Campus.  The Nutcracker returns on November 27 and 28 at Shea's Performing Arts Center with live music by the Buffalo Phiharmonic Orchestra.  Romeo and Juliet will be performed on March 11 at Shea's, also with the BPO and on May 14 Neglia will present a mixed repertoire program at Rockwell Hall.

Download Season Ticket Brochure here.

Baba Yaga is perfect for the halloween season.  It is a feast for the eyes, ears and imagination with enchanting sets, enthralling music and virtuoso dancing combined in a show that will delight audiences of every age.

The holiday season comes alive in Neglia's enchanting production of The Nutcracker.  Follow Marie on her magical journey through a wonderous battle scene, breathtaking winter wonderland, and a delectable land of sweets.  Last year's nearly sold-out premiere performances drew rave reviews.  Buffalo News reviewer Steve Sucato said, "Its high caliber choreography, lucious sets and costumes, as well as the brilliant playing of the BPO, make it a holiday treat worth experiencing."

Romeo and Juliet sparkles with romance, passion and irony in one of the great ballets of the classical repertoire.  Neglia's production, set to the luscious score of Sergei Prokofiev, accompanied by the BPO, is an entertaining and visually exciting interpretation of the world's most enduring love story.  Artistic Director, Sergio Neglia says "we are very fortunate to be able to perform this ballet with live music.  Many larger regional ballet companies do not have that priviledge.  Having the orchestra as part of the production totally enhances the entire theatre experience."

Neglia's Mixed Repertoire Evening will be a showcase performance at Rockwell Hall featuring an array of pieces, ranging from classical to contemporary ballet, with a roster of international and national guest dancers and choreographers.  Buffalo News reviewer Steve Sucato called last year's mixed repertoire performance, "Arguably the finest mounted by a local dance organization in the past decade"

Whether you are a returning audience member or discovering Neglia's captivating performances for the first time, you are sure to leave the performances delighted and inspired.

This season is made possible in part by funding from the John R. Oishei Foundation, Margaret L. Wendt Foundation, Community Foundation of Greater Buffalo, Western New York Foundation, Erie County and M&T Bank.
